he laptop sat for a long time with a dead battery, when we plug in the power supply to the laptop and plug it into the wall the laptop plugged in the power led on the front left next to the battery led starts by glowing green. with in five seconds the power led that was green changes to amber. with the power led green or amber when you press the power on/off button the laptop will not start. the only thing that seems to happen is there is a green led on the top right area of the key board that will flash on for a second or two and go back out when you press the power button to start the laptop

Will it start with the battery removed yet still plugged into the charger? if so then its time for a new battery it seems. Yes they can go bad from just sitting.
