Toshiba satellite L45 laptop charging problems

My toshiba satellite would not charge battery. I bought a new battery and I don't even get a battery charge light now. The computer works fine with battery removed and a/c power hooked up.

Obviously there's something wrong with the battery connectors. Your battery bay is clear of any obstructions, right?
