I've had my toshiba satellite laptop for many years and it's been reliable. However today when I tried to turn it on both the power led light and the light on the power button flashes once every 4 seconds continuously, with the flashes there is also a tick noise coming from the laptop which could be described similarly to the sound of a clock ticking. The flashing and ticking isn't just a one time thing when I try to turn the device on, I last pressed the power button 20 minutes ago and it's still flashing every 4 seconds.
I've looked online and found a forum post for a similar issue, the solution they found was to remove the charger and battery, hold the power button for 30-60 seconds then reconnect the battery and charger, I tried this method already and it didn't change a thing.
