So the touchpad on my laptop hasn't been working for a few months. I recently re-installed the drivers and all that basic fix but still nothing. I then decided to open it and found no visible or obvious damage to the circuit board that connects the touch pad to the motherboard. All the ribbon cables are properly connected as I was checking for damage as well so I don't know what else to do. I tried taking out the touchpad itself but it seems to be glued to the actual laptop so that's not going to happen. Any suggestions?

Try the following steps:

  • Open the Control Panel.
    Click the Mouse utility.
In the Mouse Properties window, locate your touchpad settings.
Ensure there is a check in the box next to Enable touchpad.
    Then click Apply, then OK.
    Test your touchpad.
