Transfer everything between 2 laptops

I recently got a new laptop, and I need to transfer everything between my old one and my new one (Programs, schoolwork, etc). I have tried Macrium Reflect to no avail. I /can/ take the hard drive out of the old one, but /cannot/ take the drive out of the new one.

Any and all help is appreciated.

"everything" ? Does this include the OS?
This will not work.

If you're speaking of everything except the OS (programs, etc)...this also will not work. You can't transfer applications like that.

Your personal files, no problem. Copy them to a USB, or shared folders across the LAN.

I was thinking of everything but the OS. Good thing I hoard all of the installer files for all my programs I guess
