Trouble Installing SSD

I installed a remanufactured Intel 320 series SSD into my 4-year-old Acer Aspire. Prior to pulling the old drive, I created a USB recovery drive using the Acer Recovery Management software. Once the SSD was installed, I restarted the computer and followed the prompts to format and install windows 8 factory settings. Once the format begins...the computer shuts off at between 2% and 5%. I have blown out the fan and do not suspect an overheating issue and the power is plugged in.

Can you try installing it on the old drive and see what happens? It could be a bad image on the USB, we want to rule that out.

I hesitate doing that as I want to be sure there is nothing I missed during back-up. I also used a different USB drive...with the same results. Very baffling to say the least.
