TV as computer Monitor?

Solution
The most important thing is to make sure you can turn off the overscan.
When you watch TV they don't want blanks at the edges so they make sure of it by losing some pixels. When you use it as a monitor this means you won't see the complete desktop or window that's open full screen.

For general use, make sure it has the connections that you want to use, i.e. HDMI. After that, think of it the same way you would think of a new monitor. Resolution, refresh rate, etc. There really is no need to overthink it, unless you are going for perfection.
