TV turns on/off by itself...

I have a Toshiba model 19AV500U...recently it has decided to turn itself on and off..at various times day or night. Do I need an excorist or could it be the cable box or some other problem? ..

Does someone living close to you have the same TV? If so, their remote may be turning your TV on and off.

Also, some other device might be producing signals that your TV sees as remote control signals.

In my case, a remote control for a floor fan was causing my DVD unit to turn on and off.

edit: randomly at night? do you have any smart devices that run off schedules?

hmm your motherboard might be damaged
make sure your remote battery's are fully charged and check that theirs no schedule settings that someone like a friend or family might have set up as a joke might have set up
