Types of data loose

Solution
That will be any data not yet written to storage unit, including metadata.

Most noticeable for uset (exept file system corruption - that is very rare anyway) is that for most applications that was open during the power down, no data is saved, neither work (like anything of work performed by user is lost) or things like program window position settings or other settings are likely to be saved.

Say you're about to write an article in Word or Writer during such event. You may be lucky that if the program makes backup every 5. th minute or so, but don't rely on it. Also programs settings are probably lost if the program was still running at the power off event.
