Question Under screen camera idea

Ok, so this has probably already been thought of (and isn't exclusively for laptops) but I had an idea about under-screen cameras and would be interested for people's thoughts: as one of the main problems with cameras behind screens is the light, and we have OLED screens which can turn off dynamically... would it be possible to simply turn off the screen over the camera for the 5% of the time the average person will use it? Ending up with a unbroken screen 95% of the time and a black dot like on phones for the other 5%.
