Hello Every one,
I have a Vivobook N552V. It has been randomly shutting down. sometimes within 2-3 minutes sometimes it runs for hours and then just shuts down, looks like someone disconnected the power.
I have cleaned the fan, replace the thermal paste on 2 chips(dont know what they were, both of them were under the heat sink which are attached to the fan assembly). there is one more chip which has a thermal pad so I have not touched that. this has not fixed it.
When the system shuts down, If I try to immediately turn it on, most of the times the power light comes on with black screen and the battery light flashes twice then a pause and flashes twice, and just repeats it. no hard disk activity light as well. I have to use the power button to turn it off again, wait few minutes and then turn it on then it works.

Does anyone has any idea whats going on? I dont feel like the processor is getting heated as I cant feel the body heating up and the air coming out of the vent does not seem pretty hot. Also current weather at my place is quite cool these months.

to have a look what the problem could be:
run userbenchmark.com and post the http link of your result, e.g. https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/28977730

Reset the BIOS by jumper clrCMOS or JBAT or similar (eventually you will have to set the boot priority correctly after that)

check windows integrity
open the command prompt as administrator and type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

clean boot

check the memory by running memtest.org usb autoinstaller (bootable USB flash drive)

check the hard drive for errors with its manufacturer´s tool

I will run the benchmark once the laptop stops shutting down.
Just to give more informaiotn. I have used tinywindows in usb and linuxmint in a usb and faced the issue on both so I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with the OS/Hard disk.

I will try to find out how to do the bios reset.

I have 16gig 2*8, have swapped them and use them one by one and still got the issue.

So yesterday I used a cpu stress software downloaded from microsoft website and run it with 100% cpu usauge, left the laptop in the corner. the laptop has been running for almost a day.
I think it only happens when the laptop is in my lap and I am constantly moving or touching the laptop evne if not moving it. I gave it to a so called laptop repair guy. he said the laptop has been running for 2 days. same he just left it in the corner. He did not bother to look at the mother board and told me to buy a new laptop.

did yo check temperatures?

what happens if you move the display (not that much that it would get into standby)
No I did not check temperaturebtu I can say that the fan is working fine as I cleaned and removed the blockage from the fins, replace the thermal paste and used touch to confirm that the heat sink had almost the same temperature on the top of the processor and at the end which goes to the fan.
by display do you mean the LCD? I have touched it few times and it does not replicate the problem.
