I am a university student doing business looking for a laptop that I can play games on and do assignments and presentations. Weight is also a minor factor. My budget is around $1000. I have these laptops in mind, any other suggestions would be great.

They are both currently on for cyber monday sales

Edit: Just noticed the MSI laptops don't have SSD. DOes that make a huge difference?

This is a very good question. It all depends on the thing you use a computer for. Such as the games you play or the things you may store on it like videos or other large files. Me i a ASUS g750jw bbi7no5. It came stock with a intel i7 4770hq 2.4GHz Nvidia GeForce gtx 765m 8gbs ram and 1tb hdd. Me i play dayz at max settings 30fps steady with a few to none lag spikes. Plus it has expandable ram up to 32gbs and a extra space for a additional hdd or ssd if you so choose to add one. i find it very easy to use and fast. Yet i bought it at BestBuy for around 1300$ but they do not sell my model there anymore. They now sell the new gaming notebook and i do not know the specs but based of of my laptop and it still being the same price i think it...

Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I play league of legends along with dayz and some indie games.
