Hi -

I have an iPhone 3GS 16GB bought from a friend but it's locked to the 02 Network - I want to use my T-Mobile SIM card in it - it has been jailbroken, so phone content/apps are accessible with no SIM/wrong SIM, and it has the app Cydia which is supposed to unlock it... but you must be connected to he web either via wifi or mobile data. Problem: won't connect to wifi network, but is this because I am trying with no SIM in? Do I need to get an 02 SIM from somewhere, just to connect to wifi in order to use the Cydia app? Would an alternative be to use a friend's 02 SIM to connect to the Web to do it?

Firmware version: 4.2.1
Modem Firmware: 05.15.04

Any help appreciated, thanks

That's for an AT&T locked iPhone - mine's a UK O2 locked one. 02 are one of the largest carriers in the UK
