Solved! Unlock j3 2018 sprint and can it be rooted

Just got this phone from a friend and my spr in my sim card won't work in it. Does anyone know how to unlock the sim and can this phone be rooted. Samsung j3 2018 with oreo.

You need to contact the carrier it is locked to, to get it unlocked(if it qualifies to be unlocked).
