unlock number keys

the keys that are for numbers and letters on my Samsung n230 notebook appear to be locked on numbers and I don't know how to switch that function off

if I remember right the numbers on the keys are blue, there should be a key on the keyboard that has blue writing on it that says FN. You should be able to click it and turn the function for the numbers off
