Hi all,

A few days ago i found out , that my graphics card has got 2 GB installed, but only 1GB is usable.
Can I unlock my card to an 2GB card and if yes, is it possible without flashing the BIOS ?

My graphics card: VTX3D Radeon HD 7850 X-Edition (GHz edition)

Do i need to post some more hardware infos ?

Hopefully someone knows if it is possible :$

Greets,

Only 7850s that specifically state that they have 2GB in their specifications (oftentimes this is also stated in their model number) have 2GB of frame buffer capacity and my Google searches of your card have 1GB specifications, not 2GB. I do't think that your card has 2GB of memory and besides, having locked memory is extremely unlikely anyway. Venders generally don't do that because it's a waste of their money to buy 2GB of frame buffer capacity and charge the price of a 1GB card.

If, despite the extreme unlikelihood, you do have 1GB of frame buffer capacity that is locked, I know of no way other than maybe a BIOS flash to get it.
