Unsupported signal check your device output Chromecast

I’m trying to use Chromecast and I get the error message unsupported signal check your device output how do I check the device output on the TV and on the Chromecast

Try other TVs and output devices.

Just methodically change devices - especially if you can swap in a device known to be working on one end or the other (transmit or receive).

Goal is to narrow down the problem to being either transmitting or receiving.
