In summary, hackers have now appeared live onscreen on our Mac Laptops and iPhones in real time, able to change text while writing. Highly unusual, this has the earmarks of Pegasus software (see short video on Youtube).
Over the past few weeks I have tried everything publshed - contacted ISP, Apple and Google, etal, changed passwords then set up new accounts, ran anti-virus/malware software. Further, I exchanged ISP modems, and changed internet settings at ISP. All this was to no avail. The hackers were back on shortly, live.
I have had 3rd party Mac service specialists in and reformatted disks. I bought a new MBAir and new iPhone. They immediately got infected, and controlled by these outside hackers, along with our iPhones, new devices!
The breech has to otherwise be coming through ISP? but attempts at help from ISP have been less than optimal - Comcast.
Can any tech savvy person discern how the hackers are doing this; analyze as Pegasus? How can a DIY remedy the problem? Any other ideas, eg trained IT person

Solution
Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, I have reformatted discs and installed new OS, on each machine. This does not get rid of re-infection. If you came in with your computer it would also get infected! 🤷‍♂️ This is some serious problem!
If this is happening, then you are re-infecting your computer via an app/settings/backup. Verify that all applications sources are 100% legit, safe, and secure.

Also, double checking your network settings (changing SSID, and passwords). Make sure only authorized devices are attaching to your network.
I know little about Macs but if I had this issue on a Windows machine, and could not find/fix it using antivirus software, I would wipe the hard drive and completely reinstall everything. Time consuming but it always works on Windows. Your ISP really is not a factor in this kind of thing. Somehow (it can be a s simple as opening an email) your machine has picked up a virus. Macs are by no means immune to this problem. As infection can occur deep in the OS, beyond the reach of most anti-virus tools. It is possible, they are taking advantage of a flaw not yet known to Apple. If I were you, I would research how to do a complete reinstall of the OS. Make an install disk to do this using a different (non-infected) machine.

Have any of the people you worked with actually found any evidence of a virus or "hacker" doing this? In almost all cases the issues are not from an sort of virus but just simply systems crashing, issues with keyboard, user error when doing things, etc.. First thing you need to ask yourself is why would any hackers bother to connect to your systems over and over just to mess with your typing? Unless you are high profile targets people have better things to do than just annoy random people online unless you are dealing with a bunch of kids just being stupid.
