(don't see a forum for desktops - maybe i'm the only one using one anymore)
I have a Dell XPS 8700 from 2013 running Win 7 with the I7 processor and 16 GB RAM. Just before Christmans (thanks DELL) it went through some repair while booting up and now won't boot at all. Won't re-store to a previous point and the Dell diagnostics says the system HDD is faulty.
So was thinking of getting a new HDD to replace the system HDD and installing Win 10 from a DVD burned with the ISO from MS. Figure better than installing some version of Win 7 that I can get online.
Will still be a pain because I'll have to install all my apps and their settings. Also worried about performance with the photo editing SW I use regularly. I do very little video editing.
Comments? Advice?
