I have a old PC and want to get it VR ready, but I'm not really sure if its worth it or even possible to do. Not sure what info you all need, but here is what I gathered.

Windows 7 Home Premium
Sabertooth 990FX Motherboard
AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series
AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor
8.00 GB Ram
64-bit Opertaing System
CORSAIR TX650 Power supply

If you need any other info, please let me know. On a side note, someone stated that you need usb 3.0 for the htc vive. I have one 3.0 port. Is that enough? Thanks in advance guys.

I'm wanting to use the HTC Vive. Looks like these are the requirements:

Processor: Intel™ Core™ i5-4590 or AMD FX™ 8350, equivalent or better
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce™ GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon™ RX 480, equivalent or better.
Memory: 4 GB RAM or more
Video output: 1x HDMI 1.4 port, or DisplayPort 1.2 or newer
USB: 1x USB 2.0 port or newer
Operating system: Windows™ 7 SP1, Windows™ 8.1 or later or Windows™ 10

Looks like I'm good on everything except the processor and video card. I'm just not sure which parts to use, so that they fit my motherboard, and will work with my power supply.

your motherboard is capable of running that fx 8350 cpu tho might have to update bios to 1604 version.
FX-8350(FD8350FRW8KHK,4.0GHz,8C,125W,rev.C0,AM3+) https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_990FX/HelpDesk_CPU/
psu might be alright depending on cable(s) to videocard.

I would personally suggest upgrading... Having owned a 8350, it is on borrowed time as being relevant to future games... It's not super at running current games...

Have you considered a Ryzen system... To me they are the most exciting thing in systems right now for the money...

Never heard of them. (actually just looked at them, and that's probably what I'll do) Reason being since there is such a GPU shortage right now, it'll be cheaper just going the replacement route. I'm trying to wait a month or so though, since HTC Vive is launching the stand alone model i.e. no need for pc or phone.
