usb mouse not working

Hi....
When i connect my usb mouse to laptop it shows 'the last usb device malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it'
Please help.... i have connected usb drive and it worked. ..its just my mouse that's not working.

From what you have said, it seems like the problem is with your mouse. Try getting a new mouse or using a different USB port. Also, try using your mouse with another computer to see if it works.
