USB Speakers Not Working

I have two USB speakers. One that I bought for my Acer Aspire One D255E and another I bought for my IPOD. Both still work fine on other computers but no longer work on the Acer. I can find no support options from Acer since I am out of warranty and wonder if anyone has a suggestion. The speakers are, of course, plug and play. Everything else works fine with the Acer.

Goto control panel / sound and check if the usb speakers are selected as the standard playback device.
