Hello

I just bought a USB-to-RS232 Model IA13 adaptater so I can hook up my aging Palm Vx to a RS232-deprived PC. It seems to be based on chips from FTDIChip, but I don't have any further information.

Problem is, this thingie comes with a CD with plenty of drivers, but no indication of which one to choose, or how to install it:

http://codecomplete.free.fr/usb_serial/dir.txt

I pointed XP to each directory successively, but nogo. I assume I must run one of the installers before plugging this thing, but I don't know which one.

Any idea?

Thanks for any tip.

That's the problem with cheap devices - drivers. I bought a few made-in-china ones thinking I could get them to work. Not really. Even some of them came with driver CDs.

Belkin serial-to-usb worked perfect with my old POCKETPC which had only serial output. It came with a nice package & a good easy install CD. However, the speed wasn't USB, but somewhere between serial & USB. Probably serial.

You could try right-clicking each inf file in each folder in my computer to install it, then plug the thingy in.
