Used [i7-4710HQ + GTX 970M] vs New [i7 6700HQ + GTX 960M]?

I need a gaming laptop which I'll also need to carry everyday to the office. I've narrowed it down to two choices:

New
Dell Inspiron 7559-2512BLK
i7-6700HQ
4 GB GTX 960M
8 GB SSD+ 1 TB HDD.
15.6'' FHD.
1 year warranty

vs

Used
Alienware 17 R2
i7-4710HQ
3 GB GTX 970M
128GB SSD+ 1TB HDD.
17.3'' FHD.
30 day checking warranty.

It's a no brainer for sure but I need to know how reliable used Alienware hardware can be. Will they last me a couple of warranty-free years given that I take care of them? If I were to choose it, what can I do within those 30 days to make sure that I've gotten a decent product?

Also, Does the 6700HQ have a significant lead over 4710HQ in terms of performance?

Edit: Both of them cost around 1150 USD in my country.

I'm confused.

It's mainly AutoCAD, nothing heavy-duty. Its only till IT sets up a new PC for me.

Are there any tests that I can do to make sure all's well?
Does dell help with warranty-expired Alienware products if I offer to pay?

i would buy a 13 inch portable laptop with an i5 processor.
remove the 1tbh hdd and replace it with a 256gb ssd , for faster loading times.

easy to carry and work on, also a desktop is comming soon.

I would get the alienware due to the way better gpu. This will be able to beat the dell by quite a bit. Also the inspiron is more of a multimedia laptop than a gaming laptop.
