Using a lap top for TTV

Hello,

I want to use a laptop or notebook to watch telly. Screen size is not important, I now how to connect to the TV or monitor but dont want to buy a new notebook that is not up to the job. I think a friend said that her graphics card was not good enough. was thinking possibly of on Aspire One D257

you know that to hook a laptop/computer to a cable box you need a TV tuner? built in or usb is your choice

after that I doubt there's any laptops out there that won't be able to show the stream on the monitor
