Using active subwoofer

Hi

I hope someone can help me, I want to connect a sony hi-fi as my front speakers and then use a sony w3000b active subwoofer and output as 2.1 sound system on a realtek ALC889 on-board sound card. Is this possible?

O, i forgot, the sub will be connected to soundcard directly as the Hi-Fi doesn't have sub out.
