When I first purchased my vest, I wasn't getting it as a Photog vest but
as a theme park touring vest. I don't like carrying a backpack with my
camera, rain poncho, and all the other stuff (bad back had something to do
with this dislike). And a belt pouch (fanny pack) is either small enough
to be mostly useless, or so huge that it makes it hard to get in and out
of rides. But I can wear this vest with more than I ever carried in either
the pack or pouch and still be comfortable and flexable enough to get in
and out of rides. But now that I am concentrating on DSLR photography here
at home, I realized that I can also use this vest here at home as a
wearable camera bag (Of course the item name of "photojournalist's vest"
might have had some effect on this realization).
One nice thing about a vest with the equipment spread around and held
close to the body, strain on back and sholders is greatly reduced (or
eliminated).
