vga to hdmi cable dont work

i have an old monitor lg with only vga port... i connect a cable with vga-hdmi converter with my pc and my monitor wont show... my graphics card have hdmi and dvi ports...

You need the HDMI to VGA converter. I bought one from Amazon and works great.
