Video through amp

i run video through my AVR.

why?

-i have hdmi output from most devices
-hdmi supports uncompressed dolby audio, optical does not.
-single hdmi out to tv. no need for an hdmi switch (due to limited tv inputs) or swapping tv inputs (with controller). less cable clutter.
-changing audio/video source is as easy as turning a knob. i sit near my receiver so this is a plus for me.

so... quite a few reasons why i like going through the AVR

if your amp/avr doesnt support hdmi then i would say dont bother.
