Question View Sonic curved screen fault

I have a Viewsonic curved screen VX3268-2KPC-MHD it powers up but when I plug the HDMI cable in there is several verticle lines on the screen, and wide block of lines, occasionally the PC picture comes on the screen then fades away to a blank screen , the verticle lines disapear after a few seconds then the screen goes blank - any suggestions on what this could be ? thanks
