walmart has a LAVA recorder without an image of the back. Hoping it talks to newer TV without tuners. I bought a mediasonic and it has trouble seeing the remote. Tv listing has no details...https://www.walmart.com/ip/LAVA-DVR-HD-Video-Recorder-Converter-Box-Records-TV-in-HD-1080p/525658828 (it this a better solution)?

https://us.amazon.com/Mediasonic-HOMEWORX-HW130STB-Converter-Recording/dp/B01EW098XS does not do a tv listing with details (unless you focus on 1 channel, then you see details). Biggest concern is that the remote clicks do not work all the time and lip syncs with sound sometimes is terrible. So looking for a better experience, so I inquire..thank you..

I am a big fan of the lava recorder now. the remote works well and the pause and record work great. I ended up getting it at antennadeals.com (free shipping and includes 16G stick). I like it so much I bought another one so I can record one show and view another show on my Vizio monitor (no coax in, so it's not a TV, it's a monitor)... The tableo looks to be a better UI if I wanted to merge internet and coax. It seems more advanced and less $$ than the fire re-cast box. I may go that route if the UI connects to my monitor.
