Want to know if I can run 2-2 ohm subwoofers with my 3 ohm home stereo system?

Solution
You could get a 4 ohm subwoofer amplifier and as I said....wire the speakers in series.

Then you need to know what wattage to buy. I would take whatever the speakers are rated for...times two...and that's a ballpark number for you to shoot for.

Keep in mind that the ratings on amps are sometimes inflated outrageously.....especially cheap amps.
I would probably wire them in series so you get 4 ohms....then connect it to the amp.

4 ohms on a 3 ohm amp is safer than 2 ohms on a 3 ohm amp.

Thank you for your email, I appreciate your help, I am very new to using subwoofers so I am trying to get all the info I can. Do you have any amplifiers that you would recommend? For a budget?
