West Wing

My wife failed to record tonight's episode of West Wing. If you recorded
it and have a VCR that you can make a copy, please don't erase it! I
have a post on a local newsgroup to try to find a local tape, but if it
is not available, she would really appreciate someone here making her a
copy. We can pay by PayPal. We're in NC.

Thanks!

You are not the only one that missed West Wing. My 5500 was apparently too
full to record it. It is updated via network. Is there a way someone can
send me tonight's West Wing. I'd be forever in your debt - and my wife will
be less pissed at me!

If someone can tell me what I need to do to make my machine available for
the download (if even possible) that would be great.

Thanks,
Bernd

You'd have to trade it in for a 5000 series to make it work. I recorded
it and can mail a VHS for the cost of tape and postage.

Looks like somebody forgot about theme channels. With those, you never
have to remember to record things. You just enter the name once.

mine missed it due to ABC's "Lost". They now officially run that program
from 8:00 to 9:01 PM (PST) and that extra minute conflict caused the
ReplayTV to skip The West Wing at 9 PM completely. This time shifting by
the networks is getting out of hand.

thankfully there is poopli.com ;)

Though theme channels are good, Bar Sinisters are not (That's the
circle with the slash through it)

I've seen more than a few cases where I have themes set up to get 2 or 3
shows that are on the same hour... Replay picks one (using logic which I
actually can understand) (I should add it is consistant in which one it
picks) and flaggs the other two for my attention... Thankfully I have 4
VCR's in the house just now to act as back ups (one is my wife's, 2nd
one is next to this computer, also used, now, exclusively by wife, other
two are mine... One she uses for playback on rare occasions but I have
to turn off the timer since it's ... Different (Kindest word I can use)

So far I've never needed to use more than 2 VCR's at once.

Those you get in DVArchive? It least a you get a warning of conflict,
so you could schedule it manually.

The first part of my daily schedule-checking is to check the DVA
"upcoming shows" list for conflicts.

That's how I do it... Very handy using DV-Archive as my TV Guide because
shows I need to program into the VCR's are clearly marked,,, Very
clearly marked.

And there are a few shows my wife likes too... Including one that moves
around a lot (hard to find) So far I've found it twice using the RTV, a
theme channel and DVArchive One time the RTV grabbed it,,, Second time
we had to program a VCR

And if you find something you like, and it isn't already screduled you
can shecdule it from there. Before DVA, I used zap2it, and it
something looked good, I'd have to look it up again (on the Replay).

DVA is also more reliable that zap2it (once you get DVA working).

That's what you seem to think, but it is not necessarily the truth.
