What are these Directories?

Two days now I have my new K750JN and all is fine so far. However I’m installing all my software and I guess windows (8.1 64bit) did not like some and in the morning when I went to start the laptop it did not start. So I went thru the process and refresh my system and had to start almost from scratch. No problem, all went fine

But now I have 2 new directories on my C

One is called $Windows. ~BT and the other is called Windows OLD. Both have all kinds of subdirectories.

Anyone know if I can safely delete these 2 directories?

Do a search for "Disk Cleanup" - there will be a section of old windows installations (or something similar) that can be removed.
