Why don't you try upgrading Ram?

my laptop has 2 memory slot but don't know whether to add single channel ram or dual channel ram

reload windows to use 64bit version to access to full 4gigs or more of ram that you can't do using 32bit version. go with win 7 home premium or pro so can do free upgrade to win 10 as your ultimate won't do that & is most likely pirated. make & model# of dell laptop to see what ram it uses?
