What gaming laptop to buy?

Hey I'm quite new at the whole gaming laptop specs and stuff, I have 400 pound budget which is strict, Im wondering what is the best possible laptop I can buy is, if 17' is an option I will take it, but is not required, I want to run games like Fallout 4, Ryse, Cod at atleast medium settings, can I get any help? Thanks you loads.

You will not find any laptop at the £400 price point. I recommend that you save up.

You would be needing a laptop that is about equal to a desktop's specs when it comes to Fallout 4; that would be a GTX 980M.

You may be able to, however, get away with a GTX 970M.

It would not be a good experience with Fallout 4 however; the biggest problem would most likely be the CPU (Intel i5-4210H)

like gamer cat said, youre gonna have to up your budget ALOT of lower your expectations a TON. you pay a hefty premium with laptop gaming

Assuming you want to play Fallout 4 at 1080p a GTX 960m would suffice.

If you don't mind playing at lower resolution less than high graphic settings then playing Fallout 4 with a weaker GPU is possible. For example, I played Fallout 4 on my laptop with a Radeon HD 8850m @ 1600x900 resolution and a mix of low and medium settings. It is a little more powerful than a nVidia 940m.

Do not buy a laptop with integrated graphics to play Fallout 4 like Intel HD graphics because they are not powerful enough to play Fallout 4 and they are not officially supported by the game. There are some fixes to get Fallout 4 to run on Intel HD graphics, but it is hit or miss. Some people can play FO4 using Intel HD graphics (low performance) while others cannot.

I tried to several fixes to test the Intel HD 4400 in my laptop, but the game crashes when I attempt to go past the main menu.


My advice is to save up money to buy a laptop with at least GTX 960m or better.
