What Is Fixd, and Should You Buy It?

Sponsored? Opinion? You can get a bluetooth OBDII scanner for about $5 on eBay. There's a few free apps on Android that will connect to it, one similar to the FIXD app which is the only difference i can see between that and the generic ones on eBay.

I'm curious as to if the FIXD has the same internals as the $5 units, I wouldn't doubt it. But if the app can help with maintenance then it will only still cost a fraction of what you could save. Personally i would just get the $5 eBay unit and get a good app that does everything the FIXD app does for another $5.

I agree 100% with NEATOMAN. I will also add that many vehicles, such as Australian-built Toyotas and Mitsubishis, use proprietary communications protocols, rendering commercially available OBD-II scanners worthless.

FIXD Doesn't work Cars that are non -American. IE: I am in Australia, I have a VE Commodore and FIXD thinks its a Chevrolet Silverada also have a Holden Barina and FIXD thinks its a Tata.
