What is gateway MAC address

The gateway IP address and the MAC ID are two different things.

Connect computer to router with ethernet cable.

In Windows go Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt. At the command prompt type IPCONFIG /ALL and gave a look for the word gateway and the address adjacent to it.

The MAC ID is a unique alphanumeric assigned to each piece of networking equipment at manufacture. It's usually written on a label the equipment case.
