what is .hermit file in android ?

i have .hermit named file which takes 2.5 gb storage..can i delete this file or will it affect my applications ?

.hermit files are usually created by apps that "hide" other files, usually photos and such. You can probably delete it without too much issue, although it will mean losing whatever it is that you had hidden away originally.
