Title says it all. Just bought all of Tool's CD's, because that's the only legal way to obtain them. I was going to use Windows Media Player, but I felt like there's gotta be a much better alternative to convert the songs to loose MP3s. So let me know what you guys think is the best free/free trial CD ripping software is.

Edit: It would also be cool if said software pulled all the artists information and album art from the disc.

For me burnaware free....You can check also here https://windowsreport.com/cd-ripper-software-windows-10/

Exact Audio Copy (EAC) has always been the gold standard for audio ripping in my book -- http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/

Solution

Will it pull the artist information and album art work?

It can add the metadata from several sources. Configuration isn't as easy as some tools. It has A LOT of options.

Sweet. It looks to be working, but my portable disc drive is being recognized and unrecognized over and over by my PC when I try to rip the dics. Even in Windows Media player it does this. I guess I will just have to buy a decent one on newegg.

I use dbPoweramp and EZ CD Audio Converter. Some advantages to each. Both can look up metadata from multiple sources. If your discs are a scratched EAC and dbPoweramp can be so anal about getting every bit that they will keep scanning the disc.
