What is the primary limitation of free versions of antivirus applications?

Some of the free versions dont schedule scans or even updates so you have to remember to do both regularly.

A lot of folks believe the best "free" one is the one you got for no extra charge when you paid Microsoft for Windows. It's called Defender.
