what keys to press on hp laptop using HDMI cable to show screen

my laptop has been broken and i would like to know the keys to show the display on my tv via hdmi for windows 8 hp laptops

That will, of course, depend on the make and model of laptop. What make and model of laptop do you have?
(plus, of course, if the problem is not the display this won't make a difference.)
