What's with macbooks

Whenever I look on youtube videos about "hackers", software security and all this kind. Almost everybody are using macs, so what's with them? Is it actually so great? Can someone bring light into this? thanks

macs are in general less prone to viruses largely due to the fact that most hackers/virus makers target windows computers because they the majority.
