When i attempt to connect to my WORKING wireless connection it fails immediatly

Hello,
I set up my wifi today through a linksys router. my iphone, xbox 360 and desktop. but my pos laptop immediatly fails to connect to the network... never seen anything like it. help?

possible reasons:
-incompatible wireless network adapter (say a or n)
-incorrect security password
