When I start Google Chrome, a tab for amazon.com opens automatically along with the tab I requested. How do I get it to stop?

Why would Google Chrome insist on opening a particular tab every time I start it up? I have tried unchecking the "Open a Specific Page or Set of Pages" checkbox in the settings. This did not work.

Go to settings and simply set the pages you want to open, if it persist, check for unwanted add-ons, also can run a malware scan

You might've accidentally set it to load it everytime you startup the browser as your default homepage. Go to the settings and set it to what you want it to open on startup or set it to the standard homepage.
