When I turn my latop on, the HP logo appears, but then the screen goes black.

A few day ago I noticed my laptop was being extremely slow (I'd just bought it in December, it is now March) I just thought, maybe I'd tired it out for constantly being on it (I bought it for school purposes, so I was pretty much on it 24/7 doing assignments and stuff) so I left it to just chill out for a couple days and used a friends computer instead to complete my work. So after letting it unwind, I switch it on, the logo appears and I wait patiently for it to turn on (in January it took the computer a few seconds to do its thing and allow me to access) and then, the logo disappears and the screen goes black, but it didn't switch off, I could still hear the fans of the computer and the screen popped up with a message, but only briefly so I couldn't read the message. What the heck? Please help, I do not have the money to purchase a new computer.

If you bought it in december then send it back for warranty, and next time I wouldnt suggest HP.
