Can't get new Vizio smart hooked up I also have a wall outlet

HDMI usually is not needed, if you don´t have other devices to connect it to like a set top box, receiver, playstation, xbox, blu-ray player,...

Just connect the internet via lan or wifi and eventually an antenna cable.
