Where to get backdrops printed??

I know this may be a tad off topic, but I know there are some live sound guys
on here too. A friend of mine has a band that needs a backdrop with their name
printed on it. They need a big cloth one like you see hanging as the backdrop
at concerts. They don't need it quite that big though, around 10' tall and
about 15' wide. We all have looked for a place that does that sort of thing
but can't find anyone. Vinyl reflects the light too much, and I can find
vinyl sign shops everywhere, but no large sized screen printing places.
Thanks for the help,
JJ

Try billboard companies. I don't know exactly what material they use,
but they are used to printing large stuff onto it. If you have someone
who knows how to use an airbrush reasonably well, then making it
yourself may be a better option.

Try Kinkos. My wife has them do banners for her preschool all the time.

That's theater scene shop stuff. Call your local university & pay some theater
tech majors to paint a drop. A caveat; some venues (maybe not rock clubs, but
definitely real theaters) will require a certificate of flameproofing before
you can hang a drop in their house. It requires having a fire official hold a
match up to your material, then signing off on it if it doesn't burst into
flame within a specified time limit.
