For the past few days, I have been browsing the web to find good deals on an affordable gaming laptop. My budget is around 700-750 dollars and I currently have my eye on the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series gaming laptop and the acer nitro 5 gaming laptop. The things that I would want out of a laptop would be decent battery life, good veiwing angles, overall decent graphical performance on games such as Fallout 4, Dark Souls 3 ,Arma 3, and The Witcher 3 etc.. and being able to use programs such as Maya and 3ds Max. Thank you for any advice you can provide and if you have any suggestions as to any other decent gaming laptops within this price range please feel free to mention them.

Consider this option:

Get the original Dell - the $700 version with the 1TB HDD - and find another $100 for this 256GB Samsung M.2 SSD:

According to this data sheet:

... the Dell has 1 SATA and 1 M.2 slot for storage. This means you can use the SSD as a system disk and the HDD for storing your games. It also means you'll be significantly over budget, at $800, but the same goes for the Acer (between Windows 10 and games like FallOut 4 and The Witcher 3, you'll be out of storage within a matter of weeks).

Cheers,
GreyCatz.

I like dell for work machines because I found them to be reliable
but that Acer would be my choice for a gaming laptop.

The acer has a ssd which is small but fast, compared to the dell's larger mechanical drive.
That shouldn't be a problem though if you are also going to get an external drive at some stage, otherwise you will run out of space fairly quickly.
