Which is a better laptop overall?

I own the first one, but i am thinking of selling it and upgrading to #2. I was wondering if its worth the upgrading. I was seeing the second one has a better video card, but it has less cores, so I think it will perform slower for other stuff.

So which one would be better overall? For gaming and muli-tasking.

Would need to know which model you have specifically, and which model you are looking at replacing it with. Just reviews of the overall laptop and its options isn't enough to make a selection.

I have the first one which only has one model, and for the second one I was looking into the one with 16GB of RAM with i7.

for 1200€ you could get a much better laptop

GT750m (rebranded GT650m with a faster clock rate) is supposed to be a little faster then a 7730m

And your quad core i7 without hyperthreading would be overall faster then a dual core with hyperthreading, at least in multithreaded tasks. The Haswell chip would get you better battery life.

If you use the laptop for gaming/multitasking why go for an U-CPU?
you could easily get an 760/765M or an GT755M SLI with a "real" I7 (4 core 8 thread) with that amount of cash, sorry i just dont get it.

Mainly for writing code as I am studying computer science and maybe a little gaming but that's not my main focus.
